Oca-Rina: Termite Turmoil

A 2D platforming collectathon, made in Unity using C#

Oc-Rina: Termite Turmoil is a 2D platformer developed using Unity and C#. It follows two characters, Oca the pangolin and Rina the sugar glider on their quest to collect Stickies and Stonies and reclaim their burrow from the invading termites.

This game was developed as part of Birmingham City University's BSc Video Game Development course, with the brief being to create a game that demonstrates the uses of a complex physics engine.

The player must collect Stonies - magical floating rocks - in each level in order to progress to the next, before taking on the final boss. The player must navigate the levels by making use of each character's unique abilities, such as Oca's rolling and burrowing or Rina's small size and gliding ability.

The focus of this assignment was to create a game that made use of Unity's many physics components, and so I created a character who could glide around the levels and be pushed around by "fans", as well as environmental objects such as bounce pads and slippery ice.

This project received a First, with a grade of 73%.
